Welcome to Ghost of a Podcast. I'm your host, Jessica Lanyadoo. I'm an astrologer, psychic medium, and animal communicator, and I'm going to give you your weekly horoscope and no-bullshit mystical advice for living your very best life.
Welcome back to Ghost of a Podcast. This week, we're going to be looking at the astrology of
March 30th through April 5th of 2025. And as a special treat for you, at the end of the weekly forecast, you'll be able to hear an excerpt from my live talk at the Oakland Museum on March 16th, where I break down the astrology of 2025. So you know I didn't do a full forecast for the year ahead this year, but this breakdown hopefully will be educational and interesting to you. And I have made the whole talk live, which is a discussion with Malkia Devich-Cyril about the catalyzing force of grief, the world as it is today, and so much more. It was really a spectacular event, and again, thank you if you were there. And the video of it will be available on the public page of my Patreon, so you don't have to be a member to see it. Just go over to my Patreon page. It is linked in the episode description, and it's all over my Linktree, my website, all that kind of good stuff.
So, all that said, let's get into this week's astrology. It all begins on Sunday, March 30th, when at
4:58 a.m. Pacific Time, Neptune moves into Aries. Now, this ingress is incredibly important news, and it will be really consequential for our lives. This shift may be felt immediately, and it may not. It will certainly be felt over time. Now, let me just share a little bit about this. Neptune takes about 165 years to move all the way through the zodiac, which means the last time that Neptune was in Aries was 1862 through 1875. It was a long time ago. It was the time of the abolition of slavery. It was the time of the Civil War in the United States.
And there's a lot to be said about that, but I want to first say that whenever one of these generational planets—and the generational planets are Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto. Whenever they ingress into a new sign, it shifts society in a really big way because they stay in a zodiac sign for so many years. Neptune was in Pisces since 2011, and since 2011, a lot of things have shifted. In this period, we have seen the rise of conspirituality, of Q, of cult-like following of various leaders, including the 47th president of the United States. This has been a time where we have seen the rise of like culture in social media and so many other things. This has all been very Neptune in Pisces.
Now, whenever an outer planet ingresses into a new sign, there's always this period of chaos and disruption as we adapt to these energies. And so we can expect things to move fast, to change in meaningful ways, and in particular up until the start of next year. Now, Neptune will be in Aries until October 2025, and then it'll Retrograde back into Pisces until January 26th of 2026. And it'll be in Pisces for many, many years to come, until 2039. So the total transit is 2025 through 2039. It's a long time.
Now, what we can expect in the world is a lot. Aries is related to policing, military, war, aggression. Neptune is high spirituality. It's related to escapism. It is nonbinary in nature. It governs over fog, idealism, humanitarianism, also cults and what can end up being a kind of devotional adherence to spiritual principles that can be very destructive—or not. So, when Neptune moves into Aries, there's a serious risk of lies, misinformation, the expansion of militaries in general, domestically and the world over. There is a risk of ideologically based wars and conflicts. Neptune, in a meaningful way, is related to our projections. So it's your projections onto others. As I mentioned recently, it's related to the parasocial relationship, putting other people on pedestals, glamor and fame, and also the fantasies we hold around people who are famous or glamorous in our thinking.
With Neptune in Aries, especially in context of the other outer planet transits, we can expect things to move very fast with the development of AI, very fast within surveillance culture. There's a lot to be said about what that's going to mean for us as societies in the world, but on a personal level, the movement of Neptune into Aries requires that you evolve away from disassociation and escapist tendencies and step into spiritually motivated self-possession, to own how you participate in the world, for the world. I'm talking about the environment, like the planet. I'm talking about our shared humanity. Neptune is related to empathy, and Aries is self-ownership. It's self-possession. It's what motivates us.
So this transit of Neptune in Aries requires that you cultivate greater ownership of yourself and your most deeply held beliefs. Neptune in Pisces, from 2011 until now, has really encouraged escapism. Neptune in Pisces has encouraged us to disassociate. The endless scroll was popularized in this transit. Now we must take individual responsibility for how we check out and what we check into. This transit is an invitation to cultivate a greater sense of purpose, to become more self-sufficient and self-reliant, and to do this not in a toxic individualistic way, but because Neptune is all about our shared humanity. Neptune is about how we are all on one planet together. We are all cousins, and injustice and cruelty anywhere is injustice and cruelty everywhere. That is very Neptunian.
And the thing about Neptune in Aries is it does light a spark inside of each and every one of us and in the world at-large to mobilize based on what you care about. Here's the thing. Neptune governs fog. Neptune is watery, and Aries is, of course, fire. So what happens when you get water and fire together? You can burn out. You can be steamy, but you can burn out. And so this is where I return to the idea of having spiritual or humanitarian motivations for your actions, for how you prioritize your beliefs, the philosophies that you hold, and also where you devote your energy, resources, actions, and attention.
Now, we'll talk about this transit a lot more over time, and at the end of this week's forecast, when I talk about the astrology of 2025, I talk about Neptune in Aries a little bit more. But I just want to say two more things about this. The first is that currently, Saturn is in Pisces. Saturn moves into Aries in May of 2025, and then in July, Saturn and Neptune meet up in Aries. This will happen July 31st and then again in February of 2026. This transit is a very fucking big deal. It is a massive, massive deal. It is likely to coincide with massive, world-shifting changes.
And so, as I said, when a planet ingresses, we tend to experience chaos and discombobulation as we adapt to the new energies and the new realities we find ourselves in. So, for those who are empathic and really sensitive, you're going to feel a difference. And for those who are not so sensitive in that particular way, you're going to notice people acting different, world events shifting quickly. It's a time of change, I will say.
But to that, I want to encourage you to not be defensive, to not try to push away your instincts and your changing perspectives and needs—instead, to be inquisitive and present because the shifts that are happening this summer are a lot. And the more clear about yourself you are, the more present you are for whatever is real and true and pertinent for you, the better. And I don't mean to be cryptic. This is stuff I talked about in Facing 2025, the webinar I did with Dean Spade, and it's stuff I will absolutely talk about more here on the weekly podcast; don't you worry. But I want to name that that's coming; that's happening. I also want to name that in June, there will be major developments. So take the spring to really adapt. Now, I expect that things are going to start shifting quickly pretty much the start of April. But they will shift even more in the summer.
So a thing to know about Neptune is Neptune governs those energies where we're like, "Is this real? Is this actually happening? Is my experience a true experience?" That questioning what is real is so Neptune. And so I want to encourage you to know that you're likely to be questioning things, questioning your own perceptions, questioning your own philosophies, values, etc. Don't shy away from the questions. Don't shy away from the questions. Don't overintellectualize them either. This is a time for pairing education, exploration, adaptation, and a validation of what you're actually experiencing. So validate what you're experiencing, educate yourself, and do these things so that you may rise to the occasion in ways that do not cost you your humanity.
Now, the other thing I wanted to share before we get to the next transits is this quote from Parable of the Talents by Octavia Butler that whenever I look at Neptune in Aries, I just—I can't shake this quote. I can't shake it. And you've probably heard it before. If you haven't read Octavia Butler's books, oh man, are you in for a treat. But the quote is, "Choose your leaders with wisdom and forethought. To be led by a coward is to be controlled by all that the coward fears. To be led by a fool is to be led by the opportunists who control the fool. To be led by a thief is to offer up your most precious treasures to be stolen. To be led by a liar is to ask to be told lies. To be led by a tyrant is to sell yourself and those you love into slavery."
Okay. Now, that brings us to the first exact transits of this week. They're all occurring on Friday, April the 4th. So, before I tell you what they mean, let me say whenever we don't have exact planetary transits, we still have Lunar transits. We still have Moon transits that activate our emotions. And it's important to note that when nothing is stirring the pot, then whatever's in the pot can be more easily felt. Do you know what I'm saying? So there's still a lot going on even when there's not anything going on. You've probably noticed that in life.
Okay. Now, that said, on Friday, April 4th, at 9:21 a.m. Pacific Time, Saturn is at almost 25 degrees forming an exact sextile to Uranus at the same degrees of Taurus. At 4:05 p.m., Mars is at almost 25 degrees of Cancer forming an exact sextile to Uranus, same degrees of Taurus. And then, finally, at 6:08 p.m. Pacific Time, Mars is one minute later at almost 25 degrees of Cancer forming an exact trine to Saturn at almost 25 degrees of Pisces. So this trio of transits is really important and hard to read separately because of the ways in which they overlap. Now, that said, let me break down each transit, and then I'll give you the overview.
So Saturn sextile to Uranus is a particularly noteworthy transit because we have these outer planets—Saturn is a social planet; Uranus is a generational planet—in aspect to each other. And so these tend to be kind of culture, society, political-shifting transits. These heavy hitters hit heavy is what I'm saying. So Saturn is reality, responsibility. It is time and it is perseverance, while Uranus is inventive and inquisitive and adaptable. It is restless and dynamic in its own ways.
And so, when we have a lovely spark of energy between these two planets, a.k.a. a sextile, what tends to happen is your ability to make changes within your existing reality is strengthened. Your ability to stabilize the chaos in your thinking, the chaos of your plans, is strengthened. So it's a great transit. This is a particularly good time for reflecting on your habits, your patterns, your ideas about reality, what is intractable reality, whether it's in the world or in yourself, and asking yourself, "Is it true? What's possible? What's possible?" and to either have sparks of insight come up or simply just be more open to possibility. Very exciting.
If you've got revolutionary or innovative and eccentric ideas about what you want to do or what you need, this transit can help you to stabilize those ideas, to kind of get them a bit more grounded so that you can make use of them. This is a really good transit for creating or loosening up structure depending on what you need. It's one to pay close attention to. If you are engaged in trying to build something for yourself, for others—doesn't matter. If you're trying to build something, you want to pay attention to these three transits—I almost want to say in particular this transit, but really, it's any of these three transits—and make use of them because whether you like it or not, whatever your relationship to it is, reality is reality is reality is reality. We are in a reality, and it is a collectively shared reality.
And also, whether you tap into it or not, whether you explore it or not, reality is changeable. Reality is unpredictable. Reality can be co-created and shifted. These two truths are not opposing each other. They coexist. And so much of the reality you experience and the realities that we live under have to do with our willingness and ability to acknowledge all the parts and be intentional about what we're working with and how.
Now, at the same time, Mars is sextile to Uranus. So Mars sextile Uranus—again, we've got this sextile, which is in a spark of energy. It's a dynamic spark of energy. And Mars is what you do and your motivations for doing it. It's ambition. It's aggression, and it's passion. And so, if you've been struggling with your relationship to anger—how you embody it, how you express it, how you process it—this transit is your friend. It can help you to perceive or be open to new possibilities around that.
This is a great transit for acting on your passions, again, in a different way than you've done before. And that different way may be doing something differently, or it may mean that there's a shift in your motivations; there's a shift in how you're holding it. The changes that happen on our outsides are not inherently the most important changes. Sometimes it's your motivation that changes, and while that might not look like a big shift to other people, it is a big shift.
This transit is good for experimentation, exploration, adaptation, really just being open to exploring what you do, from sex to work to any kind of action, like your relationship to your body or your goals and your ambitions in any way. Explore, explore, explore. This transit is playful by nature. Now, it's overlapping with the influence of Saturn, which can be a little bit of a dampening agent to the play and fun of Mars and Uranus when they get together, or it can be a stabilizing agent. It just depends, depends on how it hits your birth chart. It depends on your relationship to these concepts.
And then, finally, on this same day, we've got the Mars trine to Saturn. So Mars trine to Saturn stabilizes your ambitions and your passions. So, while Uranus can kind of pop off and get distracted and go in lots of directions, Saturn is focused. When Mars forms a trine to Saturn, what you can expect to experience is perseverance, steadiness, depending on your nature, relentlessness. This is a great transit for doing difficult things. This is a great transit for building something. That thing could be building self-esteem, building a sense of self. That thing could be building a tolerance for risk. It could be internal is what I'm trying to say. Or it may be that you're going to finally organize your closet or finally join a group you've been meaning to join. It doesn't have to be one thing.
But whatever it is that you do on and around this date, be intentional because these energies are so incredibly supportive. They can really help you to follow through, to act in ways that reflect what you want to build. And the combination of these three transits is dynamic because where Mars and Uranus come together, things can get a little wild, and where Mars and Saturn come together, things can be a little stuck. We have Mars and Saturn and Uranus all together, and that empowers you to follow through on your passions and your hopes. That's amazing. That's really cool.
And here's the thing. This isn't just happening for you. It's happening for everyone. And so, if you want to work with others, then everybody's likely to be a little bit more open, which is cool. Now, this doesn't promise that they'll be open to your ideas and your approach, but everyone's going through this transit. And so it's fertile. It's fertile. And we want to make use of this fertility because by the end of the month—maybe the second half of the month is what I should say—things get really challenging.
If you want to hear my forecast for April—so, every month on the 1st of the month, I drop a bonus episode of Ghost of a Podcast where I break down all of the planetary transits. I finally joined the modern world, so you can subscribe and get those episodes either on my Patreon, which has always been the case, or it should be available on your feed wherever you listen to this podcast. So you can look for that in your feed. It comes out on the 1st of every month.
But all to say these three transits—I cannot stress enough how useful they are for you. They're useful. This is not a time to disassociate or to check out. This is a time to stay present, to explore your fears and your hopes, your plans, your anger, your defenses, your passions. Explore those things because it is only through engagement that we grow, that we heal, that we mobilize. So engage with whatever it is that is up and active in you and in the world around you.
And that, my friends, is it for this week's horoscope. It's just these four things, Neptune moving into Aries and these three transits happening all on Friday, the 4th of April.
Now, as promised, please enjoy this astrological forecast, which is an excerpt of my talk at the Oakland Museum on March 16th. As a reminder, if you would like to hear the whole thing—which honestly, you do, because my conversation with Malkia Devich-Cyril—it really filled me up with so much life, and the crowd was amazing. And I just know that it had so much value. So I hope that you will listen to it. Again, it's available on the public page of my Patreon, and it's a video, so you get to see us onstage. And shoutout to Samara Halperin, who filmed the whole thing with their mobile phone so that we could all get to enjoy this powerful conversation.
[Recording plays]
You all are amazing. Thanks for being here. You know, having a piece in the Oakland Museum in the Hella Feminist exhibit was like an honor of my life. It really was. And being able to kind of come around and have this conversation with Mac about grief in the world that we live in is—I'm just thrilled to be able to do it. I believe that it is essential that we find ways of being present with our emotions, especially the scary ones, the hurt, the fear, the grief, so that we can connect to our essential selves and to each other.
But you don't need the astrology to know what time it is, right? Because we are here, and we are here because we see what's happening. We are living through terrifying times. And the astrology of these times explains it, but again, we don't want to use astrology to not pay attention to reality, right? So we'll just keep on staying in reality. When there are massive shifts in humanity, when there are massive shifts in culture, you can bet that there are massive shifts astrologically. And so, in March—this month—of 2025, there are massive shifts. And in 2025 itself, there are massive shifts. So I want to talk about those a bit.
Right now, in March of 2025, we're in Eclipse Season. So Eclipses—they bring up deep emotion. And whatever it is that came up for you on and around the Eclipse on the 13th, yeah, it's going to play out over the next six months. So it's the themes; it's not the details, right? And it was probably intense, because a lot of you gasped. But we are in Eclipse Season, which means things both become revealed and become more obscured because emotions come to the surface.
[audio gap 00:25:19] is feel your feelings. Be accountable to yourself and to others. And know that they are part of an evolutionary process of becoming more emotionally integrated in this life. And everything is so jacked up that most of us are feeling triggered very easily. Most of us are so in our emotions that someone cuts you off in traffic, and you act a fool, or something happens, like—you know, whatever—like with your bill for something, and you take it personally. And that's just to say the surface-level interactions we're having. The deeper connections we're having, the coalitions we're building with each other or that we need to build with each other, require that we have emotional intelligence. And that requires accountability, and it requires care, not just for others but for ourselves.
And this is a period, March of 2025, that is a crash course in that. So, whatever the details of your situation, don't overthink them. Whatever the feelings are, rise to meet them. And give other people grace because they're going to get it wrong, just like you're going to get it wrong. Engaging with that stuff is hard, and it feels complicated, and it's worth it. And it's worth it.
So Retrogrades, Retrogrades—whatever. I'm not going to say too much about Retrogrades. You know about Retrogrades. It's a mess, right? It's a mess. That's where we are. Okay. Fine. And it's just another opportunity to turn back inwards and reflect. Things don't always need to be moving forward. That's what Retrogrades teach us. Sometimes you need to go inwards; you need to look back. And within that, I love that you love astrology, for as many of you that do. But learn from history. Learn from movements that have already occurred, that are occurring now. Learn from the past because it is repeating itself. And this is what astrology teaches us, right? What were the patterns? And they show us when they repeat and what it all means.
I mean, the thing about being alive is it's—as a friend of mine who's a death doula said, it is labor to come into this life, and it is labor to leave this life. It is not easy, and there is injustice. And we cannot manifest our way out of injustice. We cannot spiritual our way out of injustice. And understanding the astrological themes that are activated can be really empowering if we hold it correctly. So make sure when you're consuming astrology not to [indiscernible 00:28:22].
There's a number of things happening this year. In July, Uranus moves into the zodiac sign of Gemini. Now, the last time Uranus was in Gemini was 1941 through 1948. I'm sorry. You're not going to like the other two things I'm about to tell you. Okay. So it was World War II, but it was mostly the end of World War II, eh? Nothing? Okay. Okay. Okay. So the time before that that Uranus was in Gemini was 1858 through 1866. That was the Civil War. Okay. Yes. Okay. Here's the last one I'm going to give you. The time before that was 1774 through 1782, which was the American Revolutionary War.
So expect nothing much to happen this summer. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you for laughing instead of crying, although we should cry together, too, right? That's what we're here to talk about, is that what Uranus in Gemini speaks to is so many things. I could talk about that for ten more hours, but let me just kind of try to be succinct to say we have something to fight for. And we have something to be activated around. And if we are willing to face our fears, process our grief, band together and accept that the people next to us are sometimes going to be annoying, sometimes going to have different politics, sometimes going to see things differently—whatever—some people will wear pink hats, and other people will say, "Why are you wearing a pink hat?" And you know what? Just let it go. Just let it go because the coalitions we need to be building right now are coalitions that are inclusive of difference. It's Uranus in Gemini. It's all the things scattered around. Have you ever encountered Gemini? And it's revolution.
And within that requires that many different kinds of people serve many different roles. You don't have to be like the person that you're the most inspired by. You might support that person that you're inspired by and not be like them, but have their back. We have a lot of roles to play. And, that said, this summer in July, Uranus moves into Gemini. And things are going to get hot, and they're going to move quick.
[Audio gap 00:30:58] building and activism if you are doing spiritual activism. Build towards July because things are going to move quick. This month, at the end of this month in March, Neptune moves into Aries. I don't know. I mean, you had a bad reaction to the last [indiscernible 00:31:18]. But Neptune moves into Aries, and yeah, that was last time 1862 to 1875. I mean, there were some things going on. Don't overthink it, but what you need to know is this—two important things. One is we have to believe in what we're doing. Neptune moving into Aries is a time where we need to believe in what we're doing.
And when we act out of anger and rage and grief, there is power in that. And anger and rage will burn you up faster than you can use it. And so we know there are people who are motivated by rage and hatred and vitriol, and we do not need to match them in their energies. We do not need to build coalitions like they build coalitions. But when you fight, make sure you're fighting for something and someone and finding the love inside of you and understanding that grief is just a shadow that is cast by the death of love.
And so the deeper you love your community, this world, this planet—whatever it is, the deeper you love, the deeper your grief will be at the vulnerability of all these people and all this place. Neptune in Aries will teach us this very fucking quick. Oops. Can I say that? I said it. I'm sorry. I said it.
[Audio gap 00:32:47] 2026, Neptune and Saturn meet in Aries. And you know what? The last time that happened—in 1989, when the Berlin Wall fell. Okay. So there's some power in that, right? The kind of clash of titans can occur when this happens. Now, the last time this happened in Aries was in 1703, which was less exciting news to report. But the thing to know is that the way we structure our response to grief and anxiety needs to evolve, and quick.
So, instead of wasting your energy on, "Why is this happening?" and, "Why can't we have a better timeline?"—this is happening. This is our timeline. And so find a way to accept it—not consent, just accept—so that you can build coalition and work towards justice, work towards embodiment, wherever that is, whatever it is.
And I want to say one last thing astrologically, and then Mac is going to come up, and it's going to be good. Pluto is in Aquarius. If you mess with astrology, you've heard a lot about it. But something that I haven't talked about in public that is worth speaking to is that Pluto and [audio gap 00:34:08] is always associated with people-led movements that are transformational and can facilitate progress. This is global. This is internally—this is really personal to you and your process and your love life and your childhood, and it's also collective to us all.
And so there is so much to be freaked out by and hurt by and scared of, and there is so much that we can do when we work together, when we remember that we are the majority, and we remember that we have power, especially when we come together. In the words of Malkia Cyril-Devich, freedom is a practice; it is not a destination. So let's practice freedom together and get Mac on the stage.
