Weekly Overview

12.11-17.2024

On December 15th, there will be a Full Moon in Gemini and it’s likely to be at least a little bit confusing. Mercury finally goes direct on this same day, but all in all, this is an ideal time for reflecting on how you feel and who you are, and for facing things head-on rather than making any major moves. This Full Moon is likely to trigger major issues around boundaries, and to that end, listen to episode 486 of my astrology show, Ghost of a Podcast, below to hear my talk on boundaries in chaotic times, live from the Witches Confluence in San Francisco on November 2nd. If you prefer, you can read the transcript here.

As frustrating as things can be—and we all know that they can be pretty frustrating—know that the things that trigger you are as much a reflection on you and your values as they are on the people or things that you find agitating. This is a good time to double down on your values, especially if you find yourself in challenging situations with other people. That said, it’s important to be diplomatic and considerate in how you communicate where you’re at and what you can and can’t tolerate to others.

When you don’t have the answers or know what to prepare for it can really get under your skin. This week, the way to combat that is by deeply reflecting on what is needed in the present, regardless of what happens in the future. Yes, lots of things can go wrong or develop in directions that could make today’s assessments obsolete, but all of that is out of your control. Invest in things that are within your control, like your day-to-day needs and responsibilities, Taurus.

The Full Moon in your sign on the 15th is an important time of the year for you, Twin Star. This is a time for you to get real about where you’re at, but because of Neptune’s influence, you may find yourself stuck in an anxious loop instead of mindfully evaluating where you’re at and what needs doing. Tend to your emotions in a healthy and supportive way so that you can access the best of your mental brilliance this week.

It’s important that you have healthy boundaries. Having a boundary is not just about telling somebody what you need or want, it’s about holding that boundary. So if you tell someone that you don’t want to talk about pumpkin pie, and you, in fact, do not talk to that person about pumpkin pie but you proceed to obsess and fixate in your thinking about said pie and about the other person’s feelings about not talking about the pie, then you have missed out on about 50% of what a boundary is. Boundaries start from the inside, Moonchild.

This is a good time for reflection. As you consider the events of the past months or even the past year, you may be feeling vulnerable as there are many things that still need your care and attention. Instead of getting tangled up in details, do your best to stay emotionally open and present so that you can stay connected to the big picture. Act out of self-awareness instead of restlessness, Leo.

It’s time to step up, Virgo. This week is the time for you to apply the wisdom that you’ve accrued. This may help you to make decisions or take action, but it’s less about that and more about cultivating clarity and certainty. If you know where you intend to go and what’s important to you, then it is that much easier to determine what’s important for you to focus on and what you can come back to another time.

It’ll be easy to fixate on your fears this week, but even if things have gone really sideways on you, that is not a helpful perspective. Do your best to slow down and get grounded in the here and now so that you don’t act out of fear, but instead act (or don’t act, as the case may be) out of wisdom. Honor your values to the best of your ability so that you can own the consequences of whatever you do.

You may be feeling so restless for change that you act out of impulse instead of consideration. This is not a good time for spontaneous risk-taking, as you are likely to create more problems than you solve by acting this way, Scorpio. As uncomfortable as it is, sit with your uncertainties and inspirations long enough to consider their big-picture impact on your life and how these actions are likely to affect the people around you.

With the Full Moon in your relationship house on the 15th, this is a good week for you to not only invest in your relationships but to really listen to the people that you’re close to. It may be tempting to let your ego drive you to react to others, and while that may feel right in the moment, it doesn’t do much for your ability to be close to others. Make sure your ego doesn’t get in the way of true connection, Sagittarius.

What would happen if you let go of trying to control or direct things and simply allowed them to unfold instead? Your habit of keeping a tally of what is or isn’t working is likely to make you feel unnecessarily bad. If you are willing to simply respond to your circumstances without judgment or the need to categorize or fix things, you’ll find that you are more open to possibility. Let positive potential unfold this week.

While you can’t control what others do, say or feel, you can control how you participate with them. This is a time of meaningful change in your relationships and it’s likely to come along with a great deal of confusion and potentially with misunderstandings. Do your best to clearly communicate where you’re at this week so that you can, at the very least, keep your side of the road clean. While you’re doing this, remember that effective and empathetic communication is not just about what you say, it’s about how you listen.

The energy sparked by the December 15th Full Moon is likely to have you feeling scattered and overwhelmed. If you haven’t called on your boundaries and clarified for both yourself and others what you can and can’t do in a healthy way, then you’re likely to be feeling the effects of it this week. Do your best to take responsibility for your word wherever you’ve given it, and also for your own needs as much as you’re aware of them. You don’t have to get it perfect, just point yourself in the direction of having your actions line up with your words.
